A site on the larger scale, Barossa RDA wanted to create an online business directory whereby local business could create there own listing, making it the go to website when trying to find a service in the Barossa and surrounding districts.
There were quite a few key components that would need to make up the site. It had to be easy to navigate and find the business you wanted. It had to have the ability for business owners to create their own listings. There was also a need to promote the RDAs own networking groups. And finally an online calendar of events. All this meant that it would be vital to create a design that was not crowded out with information and was easy to navigate through.
The solution; what i like to call the content blocks. We created a look whereby different pieces of information, such as business description, contact details, and opening hours, were each displayed in a separate content box. This created consistency across all the business listings, and a more open design thats easy to read.
On top of that we also made sure that people could do a business search through a number of different ways, meaning a more accurate set of results when looking for that specific business on the directory
JBG Architects are simply incredible at what they do. Stunning homes, businesses, historic restoration and much more. And they are just down to earth blokes to boot.
The plan here was to have a site where they could showcase the work that they’ve done, and to help people see what possibilities they may be able to achieve with their own home or business. It was really always about letting the images dictate the look of the site, and to tell the story as opposed to a lot of text.
Another key component was to make sure that the site was easily updatable inhouse. The boys at JBG wanted to be able to easily add their newest projects to the site, without requiring any form of 3rd party help everytime
